Bighole Mountains / Moody
- Mountain woods, two levels
- Summer and early fall
- Free to play
Up Moody in the foothills of the Big Hole Mountains there's a small, unofficial campsite with enough shade for a base camp, and a wooded field right next to it.
It's the best summer option close to town. The trees keep it cooler than the lava fields, and nobody has to sit in the sun between games.
How it plays
Two dirt roads split and come back together around the field, and they make the boundary. Play it from the southwest end to the northeast end.
The field has two levels. The southeast half sits 15 to 20 feet higher than the northwest half, on a slope you can still run up. The low side is fairly open. The high side has more brush. Trees are scattered over all of it, so there's always something to break up a long shot.
Getting there
Head up Moody toward the Big Holes. Watch for a gate in a fence with a logged-off area beyond it. Your road is just before that gate, on the left. Follow it about 50 yards. The campsite is just past the spot where the road splits.
If someone already has the campsite, keep driving about a mile and play in the trees there.

When to go
Summer and early fall. It gets snow earlier than the valley and keeps it later, so check before you drive up in spring or late fall.
Leave it like you found it
Pack out your trash, pods and CO2 cartridges included. Don't shoot signs, fences or anything else that's built here, and don't drag in junk for cover. Watch what's behind your target and leave the wildlife alone.
