On the Banks by Heise
- Natural woods, no bunkers
- Spring through fall
- Free to play
A stretch of cottonwood forest along the South Fork near Heise. Nobody has built bunkers or forts here. The cover is whatever the river put there: big trees, fallen logs, tall grass and thick brush.
That makes it a good place for slow games. Scenario play, milsim, capture the flag, anything where moving quietly and flanking matters more than winning a shootout.
How it plays
Sight lines are short. You'll hear people before you see them. Teams that spread out and talk do better here than teams that rush.
There are a few downed cottonwoods big enough to hide a whole player, and the grass gets waist-high in summer. Bring something to mark your boundaries, because the woods look the same in every direction.
Before you play
There is an RV park on the other side of the embankment. If paintballs go over into the park, they will call the cops. Set your playing area well back from the embankment and make sure nobody, on either team, fires anything over that wall.

When to go
Spring through fall. The grass and brush fill in by summer, which gives you the most cover. The cottonwoods turn gold in fall, same as at Lorenzo.
Leave it like you found it
Pack out your trash, pods and CO2 cartridges included. Don't shoot signs, fences or anything else that's built here, and don't drag in junk for cover. Watch what's behind your target and leave the wildlife alone.
