Ashton Hill

  • Thick forest
  • Summer and early fall
  • Free to play

If your group wants real woodsball, drive to Ashton Hill. It's dense forest with heavy underbrush, and it goes on for a long way.

It's the farthest drive on this list, and it's worth it for a full day.

Lodgepole pine forest with thick young trees growing underneath

How it plays

The underbrush is thick enough that you can lose sight of a player ten feet away. Games here are slow and close.

The forest is big enough to pick up and move to fresh ground between games. You can play a different field every round and never repeat one all day.

Getting there

Drive to the top of Ashton Hill and take the road heading west. The woods start from there.

When to go

Summer and early fall. It gets snow earlier than the valley and keeps it later.

Leave it like you found it

Pack out your trash, pods and CO2 cartridges included. Don't shoot signs, fences or anything else that's built here, and don't drag in junk for cover. Watch what's behind your target and leave the wildlife alone.
